Make a meaningful impact-- on your schedule!
AccentCare Hospice is seeking compassionate volunteers to help brighten the lives of our patients by providing companionship, comfort, and emotional support. Our volunteers play a vital role in enhancing quality of life for patients and families during end-of-life care—sometimes through simple presence, sometimes through meaningful moments that last forever.
AccentCare Hospice proudly serves patients and families in your local community, wherever they call home.
What our Direct Care Volunteers Do:
Volunteers provide non-medical support tailored to each patient’s needs, such as:
- Visiting and providing companionship and conversation
- Reading together, taking short walks, or sharing music
- Offering caregiver relief so loved ones can rest or run errands
- Assisting with legacy projects—special mementos that help families remember and honor their loved ones
- Providing calming, supportive presence during bedside visits
No two visits are the same, and every interaction makes a difference.
Other Direct Care roles include:
- Loyal Friends Pet Teams – Therapy dog visits that bring comfort and joy
- Music Companions – Using music to enhance emotional well-being
- Spiritual Companions – Supporting patients of the same faith alongside our chaplains
- Legacy Project Volunteers – Helping create memory books, letters, or recordings
- Vigil Volunteers – Offering quiet presence and comfort to patients who are actively dying
You can choose the role that best fits your interests, skills, and comfort level.
Time Commitment:
- A few hours a month to a few hours every week!
- Visits and schedules are flexible and based on your availability
- Volunteer training is free and designed to fit your schedule
