Poverty is a reality for many individuals, but unless you’ve experienced poverty, it’s difficult to truly understand. A poverty simulation bridges that gap from misconception to understanding. A poverty simulation an interactive immersion experience. It sensitizes community participants to the realities of poverty by promoting poverty awareness, increasing understanding, inspiring local change, and transforming perspectives.
Participants will be assigned to a family, in which the goals are to pay the rent, keep utilities on, provide food, go to work or seek a job, and ensure the children of the family attend school. Each family has a different set of resource to accomplish these goals. The Poverty Simulation is an experience that you won’t soon forget.
