Our volunteers play a vital role in enhancing quality of life for patients and families during end-of-life care—sometimes through simple presence, sometimes through meaningful moments that last forever. AccentCare Hospice proudly serves patients and families in your local community, wherever they call home. What our Direct Care Volunteers Do: Volunteers provide non-medical support tailored to each patient’s needs, such as: Visiting and providing companionship and conversationReading together, taking short walks, or sharing musicOffering caregiver relief so loved ones can rest or run errandsAssisting with legacy projects—special mementos that help families remember and honor their loved onesProviding calming, supportive presence during bedside visitsNo two visits are the same, and every interaction makes a difference. Other Direct Care roles include: Loyal Friends Pet Teams – Therapy dog visits that bring comfort and joyMusic Companions – Using music to enhance emotional well-beingSpiritual Companions – Supporting patients of the same faith alongside our chaplainsLegacy Project Volunteers – Helping create memory books, letters, or recordingsVigil Volunteers – Offering quiet presence and comfort to patients who are actively dyingYou can choose the role that best fits your interests, skills, and comfort level.
