Cleaning out your garage or ready to update your yard equipment & tools? Connect Longview is always in need of mowers, weed eaters, loppers, rakes, hedge trimmers, blowers etc.!!  We are not able to repair broken equipment but do not care about the type of equipment (gas/electric/battery) or how it looks. We will pick up! 

A local couple in their mid-60s is ready to reclaim their home, and we are looking for a dedicated team to help them make it a safe, peaceful, and functional sanctuary once again. After a series of compounding life challenges, the upkeep of their home became an insurmountable weight. Partnering with GLOW (Greater Longview Optimal Wellness), Connect Longview is seeking compassionate volunteers to assist with deep decluttering, clearing, and organization. This is a high-impact project that will likely span several workdays; whether you can give one afternoon or several, your hands-on support will help transition this family from a place of overwhelming stress to a life of safety and dignity.

A senior property owner needs help installing wood fencing around his property. He has most of the materials. 

A senior homeowner's family is working at her home to get it ready for her to move back in after being hospitalized. They need help clearing off a fencline of overgrown vegetation, and some other basic yard work. 

A senior widow who has health issues and is overwhelmed with family matters needs help mowing, weedeating, raking, pulling weeds, trimming hedges etc. on a yard that is massively overgrown. There is also some junk items that need to be taken to the curb. This is a big project and may need more than one volunteer group to complete - or a large group of 20-25.

A widowed homeowner with many health and family issues needs help cleaning up her property in Spring Hill. The yard is very overgrown and may require a large volunteer group and good yard equipment.

A senior widower with no family in the area needs help mowing, weedeating and general yard work at his home in north Longview. 

A senior veteran in the Spring Hill area needs help mowing his front, side and back yard. 

A medically-disabled homeowner needs help cutting up a felled tree in her backyard. She has been unable to get it mowed because the tree is in the way. There are also vines and scrap trees that need to be cut and mowing once the tree is removed. 

Homeowner in her 80's needs help taking care of her property while she is in rehab. The home needs mowing, weed eating, raking and vine removal.

A homeowner battling cancer is currently hospitalized in Dallas and requires urgent help with exterior maintenance, including mowing, weed eating, and overgrowth removal. The local family is unable to assist as they are overwhelmed with caring for their hospitalized mother.

A senior homeowner who just had two back surgeries needs assistance removing junk from his yard and with some minor yard cleanup.

A mid-70's homeowner with multiple health issues needs help mowing and weedeating her yard. 

Medically disabled homeowner needs help cutting up a felled tree in her back yard (a small chain saw should be able to handle most of it) as well as some minor repairs to her front porch railings. Her home could also benefit from a pressure washing. 

Medically disabled homeowner has requested help removing some junked items from her property as well as cutting back the overgrown vegetation on her property. Some of the work could be managed with basic yard tools, but heavier yard equipment is recommended. Small chain saws may be helpful. 

Ideal for volunteer groups of 8-12. 

Elderly homeowner has requested assistance mowing her back lot and pressure washing her home (and possibly driveway). The back lot will require heavy lawn equipment as it is severely overgrown. 

The amount of work could accommodate groups of 10-12; however, with only one source for water and with the need for a backhoe or heavy yard equipment, it's probably better suited for smaller volunteer groups who are willing to work longer hours. 

A single mother, who is also helping raise her niece's 2 year old, needs help  removing overgrown vegetation and general cleanup of her property.  

Single working mom has a broken window in the rear of her home that needs to be replaced. Dimensions can be provided upon request. 

Homeowner with medical issues needs help removing junk from his yard and reorganizing it. Many of the items are heavy and will require strong backs to move. The homeowner will be present during the workday but he has back issues and is unable to lift very much. 

Homeowner needs help with clearing a very overgrown backyard, raking and other yard tasks. The backyard weeds are 4-6' in height so special equipment may be needed. The home could also benefit from raking and a little junk/litter removal. 

Senior homeowner needs help raking, mowing and clearing overgrown vegetation. She may need some help moving junked items to the curb for pickup. 

This senior homeowner is physically unable to care for his yard and needs help with mowing, weed eating, edging and some limb and junk removal.

Elderly homeowner is requesting painting help for her recently repaired front steps and porch. Homeowner has the paint.  She is also requesting assistance making repairs to a shed that houses her generator. The shed is leaking causing her generator to be exposed to the elements. 

80-year-old homeowner has a window with a window unit installed in it. She needs the unit removed so that the window can be cleaned on the inside. Once cleaned, she needs the window and unit reinstalled. She also needs help removing some overgrown vegetation and painting of her porch overhang. (She has the paint.) 

Middle-aged homeowner who was laid off from her job and is struggling financially is requesting assistance with repairing damages done to her home in the May 8, 2019 storm.  During that storm, trees fell on her home and damaged the bricks on one side. She paid a contractor who was going door-to-door to fix the damages but he stole her money and did not perform the repairs. She salvaged as many of the bricks as she could but may volunteers may need to provide some new materials.

Accustomed to working full time in service-related type work (including child protective), it has been hard for her to ask for help.

The homeowner also needs assistance caulking windows / doors to prevent water infiltration. 

An elderly gentleman needs assistance with power washing his home, painting his front and side porches and repairing a few pieces of siding at the front of the home that has suffered water damage.

Connect Longview needs photographers and videographers to help record our volunteer workdays! Most workdays are on Saturday morning but there are also weekday opportunities especially during the spring and  summer months.  Help us capture before and after shots of homes, interviews with volunteers and homeowners and action photos of our hardworking volunteers!
