A senior couple with medical challenges who are caring for a disabled son need help cutting back overgrowth and vines and other basic yardwork. 

A homeowner who is battling cancer and is in and out of the hospital in Dallas is asking for help mowing and weed-eating and trimming the hedges in his front yard. 

A disabled homeowner needs help with light yard work including clearing a fenceline and light mowing. 

An elderly man who is hospitalized for cancer needs help clearing out his backyard. There is a large, dead, felled tree that will require chainsaws to remove and one tree in the front that needs to be cut out of the soffit. There is junk and litter that needs to be removed also. This will be a large job for a dedicated, enthusiastic group! 

A senior widow needs help mowing, weed-eating and cutting back overgrown vegetation on her property. 

A homeowner with a heart condition and other medical issues needs help mowing her front and back yard. 

An elderly homeowner has requested help removing a couch from his carport (heavy and will require some muscle!) as well as mowing and weedeating. 

A resident struggling with medical issues and financial constraints has asked for help mowing and weed-eating his yard. He recently started a new job and will be able to pay someone to do it going forward. The yard is very overgrown. 

An elderly widower needs help with mowing, weed-eating and general yard help. 

A Marine veteran (served in Vietnam) needs help cleaning up his backyard. The yard is rather large and overgrown and will require weed-eating prior to mowing. It also needs vines and overgrowth cut back. 

A senior homeowner is looking for help weed-eating, cutting back overgrowth along her fence lines and pulling weeds out of her garden. The garden will have to be hand picked because she does have some watermelon vines amongst the other weeds. Great for groups of 10-20. 

A senior homeowner who recently had volunteers assist with a house cleanout, needs help removing the home's carpet and cleaning the floors. This will be a tough job for a special group of volunteers. The homeowner is receiving help from multiple agencies and programs and is trying to reclaim her life and space. Connect Longview and Greater Longview Optimal Wellness will provide the clothing cover and masks needed to complete this task. 

Homeowner in her 80's needs help taking care of her property while she is in rehab. The property is very overgrown and needs mowing, weed eating, raking and vine removal.

Senior homeowner has requested volunteers to provide a new coat of paint to her porch and to make some minor repairs to a section of soffit. 

A job for one or two people.  A senior couple with serious medical issues need help mowing and weed eating a small backyard. 

Connect Longview is seeking a dedicated team of volunteers to provide essential exterior maintenance for an 81-year-old widow's home. This project is ideal for general helpers and skilled tradespeople willing to tackle three immediate needs critical for property upkeep and compliance:

One Rule: Equipment must be in working condition (we aren't able to do repairs).

Volunteers needed to help reclaim a backyard that has been overtaken by weeds. This is a heavy-duty clearing project, not a standard mow-and-trim. Tasks include clearing extremely dense weeds/brush ranging from 4' to 6' in height. Volunteers will likely need a brush hog, heavy-duty string trimmer, or clearing saw.  Also needed: General raking, debris buildup removal, and a small amount of junk/litter cleanup. 

Single working mom has a broken window in the rear of her home that needs to be replaced. Dimensions can be provided upon request.

Middle-aged homeowner who was laid off from her job and is struggling financially is requesting assistance with repairing damages done to her home in the May 8, 2019 storm.  During that storm, trees fell on her home and damaged the bricks on one side. She paid a contractor who was going door-to-door to fix the damages but he stole her money and did not perform the repairs. She salvaged as many of the bricks as she could but may volunteers may need to provide some new materials.

Accustomed to working full time in service-related type work (including child protective), it has been hard for her to ask for help.

The homeowner also needs assistance caulking windows / doors to prevent water infiltration. 

Connect Longview needs photographers and videographers to help record our volunteer workdays! Most workdays are on Saturday morning but there are also weekday opportunities especially during the spring and  summer months.  Help us capture before and after shots of homes, interviews with volunteers and homeowners and action photos of our hardworking volunteers!
