What is a poverty simulation? A poverty simulation is an interactive, role-playing workshop in which participants experience the challenges of living on a low income by acting out scenarios such as paying bills, finding food, and accessing resources over a simulated month. It is designed to build empathy, raise awareness, and spark discussion about systemic poverty and community solutions.
What will I do as a volunteer? As a volunteer, you will serve at one of the resource stations (bank, school, employer, pawn shop, social service, and others) and will interact with the participants to help solve problems. You can select the role you would like to be in when you sign up through the link provided below.
